Your pool deck is one of the most-used surfaces on your property, so it's worth understanding exactly what drives the price before you request a quote. Here's how pool deck resurfacing is actually priced in Southwest Florida.

The good news: resurfacing is almost always far more affordable than replacing a pool deck outright, and most projects wrap up in a matter of days.

1

Deck Size

A typical Naples pool deck runs 600–800 square feet, though larger lanais and screened enclosures can push well past that. Since pricing is per square foot, deck size is the single biggest factor in your final quote.

2

Finish System

Not all pool deck coatings cost the same. Spray-applied systems like SprayDeck run toward the lower-to-middle end of the range. UroTile and stamped decorative overlays cost more because they involve additional layering and detail work to achieve the tile- or stone-look finish.

Expect roughly $4–$6/sq ft for a standard SprayDeck-style coating and $7–$9/sq ft for stamped or UroTile finishes, depending on color and pattern complexity.

3

Color & Texture Complexity

A single, uniform color costs less than a multi-tone blend designed to mimic natural stone or travertine. Heavier slip-resistant textures — important around pools with bare feet — also add a modest amount to labor time compared to a smooth finish.

4

Existing Cracks or Spalling

Pool decks take a beating from chlorine, sun, and constant moisture, which can lead to cracking or spalled concrete over time. These areas need to be patched and leveled before the overlay goes down, which adds a bit to prep costs but is essential for a smooth, long-lasting finish.

5

Coping & Edge Detail

If you're also refinishing the pool coping (the edge trim around the pool itself) or adding a contrasting border band, that's typically quoted as an add-on. Many homeowners choose to include it since it's far more cost-effective to do at the same time as the deck.

Typical Total Cost by Deck Size

Small deck (300–400 sq ft)$1,200 – $3,600
Average deck (600–800 sq ft)$2,400 – $7,200
Large deck / screened lanai (1,000+ sq ft)$4,000 – $9,000+

These ranges are for general planning purposes. Deck shape, access, and repair needs vary property to property — a free on-site estimate gets you an exact number.

Resurfacing vs. Replacing Your Pool Deck

Tearing out and re-pouring a pool deck means demolition around delicate pool equipment and plumbing, plus weeks of downtime. Resurfacing skips all of that — the overlay applies directly over your existing deck and is typically 50–70% less expensive than full replacement, with most projects finished in 2–3 days.
